To simulate a traffic light or pedestrian crossing (force all the
vehicles on a given lane to stop for a specified time period)
|
Select the path and then click on the "Define intersection
position" button. Once toggled it allows to define one stop point (or two
points for a two-way traffic) which will be displayed as a Blue Dot on the
path. Once placed these stop points can be moved in the same way as animation
KeyPoints.
You can also specify start/end/repeat times. For example,
setting these values to 5s/10s/20s will trigger vehicles to stop for 5s at
t=5s, t=25s, t=45s etc. "Repeat" parameter is optional, 0-value means that
vehicles will stop only once. "Delay" parameter is not applicable in this
configuration.
Once all is set, press on "Create traffic" button and the
changes will be applied.
To remove the stop point, press [
]"Delete intersection" button and
then [
] "Create traffic" button to
apply the changes.

To imitate an intersection
|
Create two crossing animation paths, place stop points on both
paths right before the intersecting area and set alternating start/end times
and equal restart times. For example, it can be start=0, stop=5, repeat=10 on
one path and start=5, stop=10, repeat=10 on the other. On wide roads an
additional start delay should be set via the "Delay" parameter: it allows
vehicles that are already crossing the intersection to exit the intersection
area before vehicles in other direction restart (similar to a traffic light
delay on a real intersection).
